Kylie Jenner’s Private Jet
“THIS IS A SHOW ABOUT DREAD…”
Guilt, powerlessness, frustration, dread. A (sort of) comedy about the climate crisis - if you don’t laugh you’ll cry.
Combining movement, comedy, and theatre, Kylie Jenner’s Private Jet navigates the well-known wasteland of Gen- Z climate anxiety. Growing up being told the world is ending, and it’s all our fault, how do we begin to even think about saving it? The show delves into those complex feelings and nonsensical decisions, with dry humour keeping us one step away from total nihilism (just about).
What power do we have as individuals in the face of climate collapse? What impact do our tiny actions have, compared to those of selfish celebrities and consumption on a global scale?
Through fresh, surrealist dance theatre, Kylie Jenner’s Private Jet boldly asks the question that keeps us all up at night:
What is the point?

“A visually stunning performance full of drama, humour, and surrealism”
Audience Feedback
Thought provoking, challenging and beautiful.
This performance was fantastic. My eyes were glued the whole way through!
"KJPJ is a timely piece, inspiring us with hope, while unafraid to ask the big questions around the most significant issue of our times in a way that is engaging and challenging. Pelican Theatre effortlessly balance challenge and humour with outstanding dance theatre, allowing audiences to reflect and respond."
- Catherine Johns, Executive Director Dance City
Compelling. Dark. Emotional.
A great combination of beautiful choreography performed with skill and heart, and funny and poignant theatre speaking to climate crisis - the work created a strong connection with the audience. Fabulous!
Brave and brilliant. Needs to be seen by many more.
I loved how the language of dance was able to express the complexity of our relationships with climate change so well.
The best dance show I’ve seen in years
Terrifying, Funny, Moving!
One of the most powerful pieces of theatre I’ve seen in a long time! It was an emotional rollercoaster - belly laughing to despair in a heartbeat but in a truly unique and mesmerising way! The dancers were incredible! Even the lighting and music and sound was impeccable! I really hope this tours again so I can bring more family and friends to see it. It’s so needed! This was for me true art - a way to make you look at the world in a different way and stick with you as you navigate your own life.

Thanks to the Gillian Dickinson Trust, Dance City and Northumberland Dance Development Commission, with additional funding from Arts Council England, Kylie Jenner’s Private Jet premiered and toured across the North East in 2025 alongside a broad programme of outreach and engagement.
We were able to work with over 160 members of our local communities in workshops and co-creations, many of whom joined us onstage in Curtain Raiser Performances.

Celebrating backstage after a fantastic performance!
We had the pleasure of working with Liberdade’s Performance Ensemble at Gosforth Civic Theatre over 6 weeks.
We explored movement language from the show and delved into the group’s ideas about climate, using a mix of dance and voice.
The co-created piece opened our Gosforth show: Doing Our Bit
We also created a curtain raiser with Dance City’s CAT Group D, and our very own Creative Movement class. We delivered workshops with students from Berwick Academy, young people in Alnwick, Sunderland College’s BTEC Performing Arts students, and local Professional Artists.
The Weight of Waiting
As part of the commission, we also led a 3 week creative residency with Dance City’s 3rd Year BA(hons) Professional Dance students.
The result was a 20 minute dance theatre piece:
