Tranquil
in collaboration with Meta4 Dance Company
A collaboration with Meta4 Dance Company on Tranquil: a package of community workshops and performances, themed around nature and wellbeing, specifically designed for Rural Touring.
Tranquil provides communities who may be isolated due to age or rural location with the opportunity to engage in high quality contemporary dance
The package
Pelican Theatre collaborated with Meta4 Dance to create a high quality dance experience, curated for rural communities with support from Helix Arts.
Working with 3 different focus groups to learn about the barriers that can prevent audiences from participating in and watching dance, we created a package which consisted of 2 workshops followed by a double bill of Meta4’s ‘Confluence’ and Pelican’s ‘Blue Mind’.
This package was delivered to two communities, in Northumberland and Newcastle in October 2022.
